Film is a medium that has the power to educate and inspire. Using the art of filmmaking it is my goal to tell stories that deeply resonate with viewers.
Through my experience planning, producing, filming and editing projects, both documentary and commercial, I know what it takes to avoid common pitfalls and complete a project.
My years of work in the San Francisco Bay Area on award winning documentary films continues to inform the way I operate on new projects. Examples include my role as additional camera on Lead Me Home (2021) which was nominated for an Academy Award and as associate producer/assistant editor on The Island President (2011) which won the audience award at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Some Kind of Drone (2018), a film I directed about a defunct startup, was selected as a a Student Academy Award Semi-Finalist and played at the NYC Drone Film Festival.
My time making films is complimented by my education in journalism and creative writing which have given me tools to investigate and articulate a story. I completed my master’s degree at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism and a BA in English Creative Writing at Pacific Union College.
I currently live in Shenzhen, China.
